Leave the M6 at junction 36 and travel west, following the A590 signs to Barrow.
Look out for the left fork to Barrow, 3 miles after leaving motorway.
Turn right at Greenodd onto the A5092 (Workington and Coniston signs).
After about 4.5 miles lookout for the sign "Woodland 3 miles" on the right at the top of a big hill.
Follow this winding and scenic lane for 3 miles and then turn right over a
cattle grid at the bottom of a hill. A further quarter mile is
our entrance, on the left just before the church.
An alternative (particularly if there is snow) is to stay
on the A5092 until you reach Grizebeck at the bottom of
a hill (total of 6 miles from Greenodd). Turn right at the
sign "Woodland 2.5 miles" and proceed over 2 cattle
grids until you reach Woodland Church.
